Day 1: 30 letters in 30 days
I can’t even begin to articulate how grateful I am to have you in my life. You’re my other sister, and I love you so freaking much. Even my cat loves you, and loves snuggling with you in bed, which I think is pretty cool.
I have so many favourite memories with you: our trip interstate just after we turned eighteen, where we stayed in a seedy hostel and made friends with the people next door; lying on the beach over New Years; hand feeding bears and tigers at the zoo; countless sleepovers watching tv and talking nonsense; our many road trips; mastering guitar hero. You’re overseas at the moment having the time of your life, and while I miss you immensely, I’m so, so proud of you for getting to where you are. And so excited to catch up with you in Hanoi in December!
Thankyou for being there – just as you are. Super intelligent, but a bit special at the same time. Thankyou for loving me just as I am and reminding me that who I am is enough. You make my world a whole lot brighter (and funnier), and you’re always there when I need you. Whether that’s emailing you with boy problems, calling you in tears or screaming at you out of my mind. You’ve never stopped loving me, even when I wasn’t quite me. Thankyou.
You’re pretty incredible, my sister from another mister. You do a better salmon dance than anyone I know.
Love times a million (and a few million more)
